Board and train programs

Puppy Prep

Puppy prep is a specific to dogs 5-8 month of age. The total program is 5 weeks long split into two parts. Part one is a 3 week stay followed by 1 lesson a week for 3 weeks when the puppy goes home. Part two is a 2 week stay where we tidy up obedience cues, rework issues that may arise or teach your pup the e-collor for off leash skills.

What your puppy will learn:

  • how to interact with their environment
    • proper dog interaction
    • people socialization
    • ignoring distractions
    • confidence building
  • Obedience
    • sit/down/stay
    • loose leash walking
    • settling
    • place
    • and other cues you may want

Adult dog B&T

Each board and train can look different, as each dog is different and their program should reflect that. For dogs older than 9 months board and trains range from 4-8 weeks depending on what you're needing help with. For behavior cases, more time in generally needed.

For a standard 4 week stay, we will meet week 2 or 3 for a mid way lesson so you can get some hands on work with your pup. Post stay, lessons are free as I want to make sure the transition home is smooth.

During your dogs stay, you will be updated frequently on your dog's progress. I encourage you to ask questions and be curious as to what your dog is learning, and why!

What we can address:

  • obedience in distracting environment
  • off leash obedience
  • e-collar training for off leash skills
  • Social skills around dogs and people
  • fear based issues
  • general reactivity
    • dogs
    • people/kids
    • things with wheels
    • general moving objects

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at lily.and.rheaskye@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Dogs sleep in crates overnight and stay in crates if I am out of the house. Dog in this program must be crate trained. If they are not crate trained, we will need to teach the dog to sleep and be quiet in the crate before starting or an additional fee will be charged for non-crate trained dogs in some cases. You will need to provide a crate if your dog has a history of attempting to break out or destroying crates.

After a board and train, we will work together to transfer what your dog has learned to you. In order for your dog to be able to retain what they learned, you must practice. If you don't work with your dog after they come home the training won't stick.

We can't work on things that aren't accessible to me. This could be barking at the neighbors dog through the fence, barking at the window, or person specific reactivity. Please reach out for more clarification as each dog is different.
