I started my dog training journey working in rescue. I saw dog after dog struggle with the shelter environment and so my dog training journey began. In rescue I learned defensive handling techniques, as well as learned how to read dog body language quickly in order to handle dogs who were scared, a bite risk or reactive to various things in their environment. With this knolage of dog behavior I could help their new owners successfully integrate their new addition into their home. Though I no longer work in rescue you can often find me working with various rescues to help asses dogs on homes they would do well in.
I have attended dog training seminars, taken online courses, read countless books, looking to expand my knowledge, as there is no such thing as being done with learning. I have also assisted in group training classes in obedience, scent work, and barn hunt as well as teach classes of my own. I feel very privileged to train with many accomplished trainers and grow my knowledge on the daily.
